The Optimen Undertow Gabriel Clouston Edseven
Free at the Beach Rd Hotel, Bondi Friday 30th July 2010 8pm - 12am
The Optimen:
It was that most unlikely, unheard of and unimaginable of settings – a Brisbane house party, that first brought The Optimen together. From the start, it became quickly apparent that the glue holding the crew together was a shared commitment to not only raise both the bar for Australian hip-hop, but also never lose the “Quality over Quantity” mentality. It’s a mission that still drives them today. In November 2005 The Optimen’s multi-award-winning debut full-length release “Boomtown” dropped. Not resting on their laurels, The Optimen went straight back to the lab to produce 2007’s “The Optimen present Red Tape Renegades Vol1”. After Red Tape Renegades and the release of Pure Products 2007 debut LP “Eviction Notice” – which featured entirely Optimen produced beats – the boys knew it was time to get back in the studio and produce their next release. And that time in the studio has produced their ridiculous new album “The Out of Money Experience”. With the new record set to drop, The Optimen are ready to once again set fire to radios and stages across the country.

The Surecut Kids Mike Who DJ Ability Ishu
Free at the Beach Rd Hotel, Bondi Friday 13th August 2010 8pm - 12am
The Surecut Kids:
Surecut Kids are two long-time friends: Boozy B and Mikey Likey. Together they have been pushing the boundaries of how much time two people can stand to be near each other. Also, they rock a party like their lives depended on it. Their setup includes four decks, two mixers, and an MPC. Jumping around like crazy, sweating all over the equipment, and generally having the time of their lives. The guys hold the belief that if they aren’t going crazy, then the audience can’t be expected to. Never wanting to be pigeonholed as a particular genre, the Surecut Kids have focused on being musically diverse. The styles you can expect to hear include Club, Dubstep, Indie, Baltimore, Baile, Hip Hop, Booty, Funk, and all sorts of other genres. All mixed in a way that even the shortest of attention-spans can appreciate. Their on-stage antics have seen them travel to Kuala Lumpur, Papua New Guinnea, Bali, Sydney, Melbourne, and all around South-east Queensland to turn parties upside-down. They are no strangers to festivals either, having performed at The Big Day Out, Good Vibrations, Parklife, Summafieldayze, Future Music Festival, BBQ Breaks, The Pro Show, Round & Round, ‘That’ Festival, and Chalkfest.

Choose Mics Hyjak Syntax Elgen and Johnny Utah DJ Ability LouLou
Free at the Beach Rd Hotel, Bondi Friday 20th August 2010 8pm - 12am
Choose Mics:
Since forming in 2006, Choose Mics has effortlessly and single-handedly redefined the phrase “all in a day’s work”; a pre album, a remix album, a new full length LP, constant touring and collaborations with artists the world over have left Haunts and Mules very busy indeed. Owning the stage and the recording booth, Haunts is an MC's MC. Growing up in the UK, Haunts has a perspective and direction in his writing that very few other artists in Australia possess and is carving a name for himself as one of the most sought after hip hop artists in the country. His partner Mules is omnipotent in his approach. He has an ear for timing and perfect samples and has already established himself as one of the leading hip hop producers in the country with appearances on numerous nationwide releases that include Boltz ‘The Wishlist’ and a new collaboration album with Sydney duo Hyjak and Torcha titled ‘Unregrettable’. On stage Choose Mics have an energetic stage presence and recently have left crowds up and down the east coast begging for more while touring with esteemed artists such as Delta, Phrase, Foreign Beggars, Vents one, Tornts, Bliss N Eso and Muph n Plutonic.
