For four years Thundamentals have been creating a unique brand of Hip Hop combining sampology with live elements, inspired by "golden era hip hop", reggae, latin, funk, soul, world and psychedelic. Originating in the Ozzie hip hop breeding ground of the Blue Mountains, DJ Morgs, Tommy Fiasko, MC Tuka and Jeswon set out to give a predictable hip hop scene an overhaul. What sets Thundamentals apart is their dedication to composition; theirs is not a rap show, musicianship and quality of sound is forefront. Over the last two years Thundamentals have played alongside international acts such as Qbert, Super Natural, Z-Trip, Jungle Brothers, DJ Revolution, MC Soup (Jurassic 5) Swollen Members, Lotek, Braintax, MC Mystro and DJ MK (Roots Manuva). The year certainly started with a bang for these guys, who played as part of Sydney Festival First Night, and were also announced as one of the Sydney Morning Herald's Top 10 Bands to Watch in 2010. Thundamentals is party music with intelligence; that guy who is still quick witted after 10 beers.
